Strengthening the Export Potential of Egyptian Handicrafts
Global Project Partners (GPP) is coordinating the newly signed Public-Private Partnership Project, Strengthening the Export Potential of Egyptian Handicrafts'. The project aims at upgrading the Egyptian handicrafts products to open new Export markets and to support the Egyptian fair trade network. The target group of the project is Egyptian handicraft producers, especially women from rural areas. They will receive support for developing handicrafts precuts which are ready to be exported. This will be achieved through training activities through our partner Fair Trade Egypt. The project has started in April 2007 and will last for two years.
In the framework of the project a series of workshops and activities will be organized to upgrade the Egyptian handicrafts designs. Further, the Egyptian companies will exhibit at the fair Import Shop Berlin for two successive years (2007-2009).
The project partners include:
The PPP Project is supported by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through SEQUA gGmbH, Bonn.
